Subject: Hot Fudge Ice Cream Puffs IP: Logged
Message: I am so glad I found this forum. I noticed someone asked for the cream puff recipe. If anyone has it I would love it. I want to share these with some of my new friends here in Georgia. They have never had a hot fudge ice cream puff. Can you even imagine that!!!
After reading this forum I am now fondly remembering the Bumpy cake. I used to get to pick out a Sanders cake for my birthday as a child. When I got a bit older I switched to the Buttercream cake. I also remember going to the Sanders shop by Sears on Dix in Lincoln Park Michigan. That was usually our last stop if we behaved while shopping. Yes, we definately knew to behave!!!

Thanks

Message: I'm looking for anyone who has the recipe for the Sanders Cream Puffs they used to make their Hot Fudge Ice Cream Puffs we all used to enjoy at the Sander's Ice Cream stores. While we can't get Sander's Ice Cream where I live, I regularly make requests for Sander's Toppings at Christmas time. If I had the recipe for the puffs, I could live without Sander's Ice Cream.

Message: I've made these many times. I can buy the Sanders Fudge at our local Krogers and use the following recipe for the puffs. 1/2 C. butter, 1 C. boiling water, 1 C. sifted all purpose flour, 1/4 t. salt, 4 eggs.
Melt butter in boiling water, add flour and salt, stir vigorously. Cook stirring constantly, till mixture forms a ball that dosen't separate. Remove from heat and cool slightly. Add eggs, one at a time, beating vigorously after each until smooth.
Drop dough by heaping tablespoons 3 inches apart on greased cookie sheet.
Bake in very hot oven (450) 15 minutes, then turn temp down to 325 for 25 minutes. Remove creme puffs from oven, split. Turn oven off and put creme puffs back in oven to dry..about 20 minutes. Remove and cool on rack.
Just before serving fill with ice cream and drizzle with fudge topping. YUM!
These don't store well ...so invite lots of friends and eat them up the same day you bake them!
Hope this helps.
