My coworkers and I were just reminscing about the joys of Sanders. Is there anywhere to be found a Carmel Cake or Almond Tea Ring in the Detroit Metro area?
I remember going to one in or near Eastland with my grandmother and loving the whole experience....the paper cone cups of water, the hot fudge melting down the ice cream. The word that comes to mind is GLORIOUS. My neighbor is from Minnesota and has never even had Sanders hot fudge. You guys are right, there's nothing like it in the world!

My husband still talks about this cake. He always had it for his birthdays as a kid and no matter how nmany recipies I try none measure up to the Sanders Carmel cake. If anyone knows where I could find this cake or a recipie I would appreciate it. It would really make my husband happy.

I AM PRETTY SURE THAT I SAW CARAMEL BUMPY CAKE AND THE CHOCOLATE BUMPY CAKE AT NINO SALVAGIOS IN TROY.

Farmer Jacks is now selling a Sanders Caramel Tea cake, I found it in the original Sanders box in the frozen section along with the German Chocolate the Bumpy and the Colonial Buttercream with the nuts.Also, check Hillers, Holiday, Hollywood, Busch's or Vic's.

The recipes for Sanders caramel frosting and hot fudge are in the Detroit News history section. Go into detnews.com, click on "Detroit History", click on "Life in Michigan", scroll down to the article "Of soda fountains and ice cream". These recipes are at the end of this article. My family has tried them and they are just as good as Sanders products.

Hello all, I have been able to find bumpy cake and carmel cake, they are not in the round two layer form but in a 1/4 sheet.. (tea cake) Kmart on Van Born had them!! To Kortney.. Ah yes My Mom too also bought us Sanders Cakes for our B-day it was a very special treat! You know a smart man would RE-OPEN SANDERS back in our state, make it just like it was.. no modernizing.. That Smart man would also be a rich man (wink)

Morley's Candy Shop on 9 Mile in Eastpointe sells a full line of Sander's candies and also cakes.

I found the sanders choc bumpy cake and vanilla tea cake and the caramel bumpy at the farms market in grosse pointe farms on fisher road. Call first to make sure they have stock. Also farmer jacks freezer dept has sanders 2 layer bday cakes and bumpy. good luck.
