Message: Just ran across this webside while looking for information to order Sanders Milk chocolate fudge topping which I adore. Have never found one as good. I used to walk downtown Royal Oak with my Mom to go shopping or to the movies. We almost always stopped at Sanders. I loved their Hot Fudge Cream Puffs and still make them myself when I have ordered the topping. It was so nice to see postings from others who lived in Royal Oak. I have fond memories of growing up there. Am going back to Michigan in two weeks and am looking forward to seeing it after many years and I hope to bring some fudge topping home with me to California.

Message: I grew up within walking distants from the plant on Oakman Blvd in Highland Park Mi. There was a outlet store where you could get day old bake goods . I now live in Phoenix Arizona. Everytime I go back to Detroit I get Milk Chocolate hot fudge.

Message: We have not been back to Michigan since 2002. I have rationed myself on the fudge topping that I brought back to Alaska with us. Put some in a microwave dish, melt, and plunge a strawberry in it. mmmmmmmmm. And yes I remember those hot fudge cream puffs. good eating.

Message: Oh my, do I remember??? YES I do! I am
71 yrs of age, my maternal grandfather, Max
Pohlar was a cake decorator at Sanders
in the 1920's. The story has it that
Fred Sanders asked him to go in business
with him but he had 4 daughters to support and didn't have the money to invest.
My mother ALWAYS went to Sanders for all
our bakery and special candies AND extras whenever possible...the store on
E.Warren Ave. I remember the metal tray
that was clipped over the counter for the little ones. My mother loved their
chop suey dinner and I loved the ground
ham salad sandwiches. Also the "waffle"
cones and the BIG single dippers!!
Such wonderful memories!!! Thanks for
keeping them alive. N.
